                           Do You Know the Way?

Jesus knew the way.

He understood the journey.

The way that was marked out for him to travel

was a path that would

benefit you and me.

Picture
The path to the cross was through villages of merchants
towns with schools and homes,
lakeside communities of fisherman,
agriculture areas where workers farmed the land.

It was by water wells at noon,
where the broken hearted hid from others,
fearful of probing questions.

Through dusty crowded streets,
where women with diseases,
pulled at his garments,
 hoping to be healed.

Streets packed with people looking for answers to the question
that haunted their hearts
with the burden of hopelessness.

It is not much different today.

Then why do some of those who are looking, not stop to listen?

The answer was before them in a man named Jesus.

Jesus, the one who came in love,

that we might have relationship with our father in Heaven.

“On that day you will realize that
I am in my Father,
and you are in me,
and I am in you.

Whoever has my commands and keeps them
is the one who loves me.
The one who loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love them
and show myself to them.”
John 14:20-21,
 (NIV)

Jesus was referring to the cross when he mentioned “On that day”.
 “On that day”
allowed us the privilege of relationship with God
as we realize the price that was paid for us
and accept Jesus as the Son of God.

We become a new creation and change begins in our hearts.

Please Lord, no more trace of me,
let others only see,

“Not I, but Christ.”
