Crossroads Christian Church History
2003-2018
In February of 2003, five families got together to discuss the possibilities of starting a new church in Ukiah. We felt like we were unfit, unworthy, inadequate, timid about this new idea. We decided to place this idea before the Lord in prayer. The next time we met, it became clear to us that God was going to make it possible for us to carry out our plans. We named the church Crossroads Christian Church and hired Joe Fry as our pastor, and began discussing what our foundation for our church would be. In early 2013 Joe Fry resigned and stepped into a role as Pastor emeritus for Crossroads, and later in September 2013 the church members voted to hire our Associate Pastor David Tarin as our new Senior Pastor to lead us into a new vision for Crossroads..
God very quickly provided the Ukiah Conference Center as a place to meet, and we had our first public service on Easter Sunday with attendance of 86. God has blessed this Church in so many ways. He has provided a state of the art sound and video system, a great worship team, and very competent workers for a Children's Church and Nursery. Nearly every week God is developing within the church, new ministries and opportunities to reach out to the community, and the people to make it happen. We have a jail outreach, an active Women's Ministry, church sports programs, and numerous small group meetings to develop close knit relationships. Gatherings at the lake and other fun activities are common. We are a group that likes to have fun together.
God is touching people and changing lives, he is bringing us wonderful families and developing an excitement and anticipation that is palpable. God is truly building up a sturdy foundation for Crossroads Christian Church. We invite you to join us and see what God is doing, and find out what He can do for you.
Services are at 200 South School Street, Ukiah. Service is at 10:30 a.m. We meet for coffee, refreshments and fellowship at 10:00 a.m. If you have questions please call our church office at 467-8400 or send us an email office@crossroads-ukiah.org. It is our prayer and goal that God will send us seekers, those with a desire to know more about our creator, and also mature Christians who do not have a church home. We encourage those that have a church home to continue in the work that God has provided for them.
